About Katie

Katie McClure is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).  She received her M.S. in counseling from Divine Mercy University, in Virginia, focusing on integrating clinical excellence with a Catholic-Christian anthropology.  She completed undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Catholic Studies at the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota.

Katie has worked at Water’s Edge Counseling & Healing Center in Burnsville as well as Novare Counseling Center in St. Paul.  She now works as a private practice therapist at Hold Fast Counseling and specializes in working with Catholic women.

Through personal experiences of loss and health concerns, Katie discovered a passion for walking alongside others and undoing aloneness in grief and suffering. She first discovered a desire to accompany others in their healing journeys as she mentored teenage women. She cherished hearing the unique stories of these students while working with them to cultivate a sense of their own dignity and gifts.

Katie’s practice draws upon Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Sensorimotor psychotherapy, interpersonal processing, emotion-focused methods, and spiritual integration when desired by the client. She has experience working with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, adjustment concerns, relational challenges, trauma, grief and loss, and disordered eating behaviors and body image concerns.

Convicted of the dignity and uniqueness of each person, Katie is passionate about collaborating with her clients to discover those things which hold them fast during the storms of life.
